Basement [page 2]

Red-eyed and yawning I turn the computer off. What an interesting game! Or was it a story? Something in between, I guess. I wouldn't like to be this Scott though. Look at all the mess he got into! Certainly fun, of course, but give me a peaceful, boring life every day, and I'm content. I get all the excitement I need from the computer screen.

I get out of the chair, turn around and stop, staring blankly at the staircase in the corner of the room. It certainly wasn't there an hour ago. And where is it leading to? I'm in the basement for Christ's sake! There is nothing below but plain bedrock!

Grabbing the first thing I find on my desk I

  1. head back up to the ground floor, hoping to find normality.
  2. go down the mysterious stairs.
